Small nodes are created as price builds value after each sell-off. (The 3-pushes also show up in the 3/10 osc on the 60-min bar chart.)
If price retraces from the latest node into the prior one, it indicates that price has overshot and is coming back to value. This can signal the end of the trend on that timeframe.
